WERA’S Care Humanitarian Foundation held its Monthly Review Meeting on 9th August 2026, bringing together members and key stakeholders to assess recent achievements, review ongoing activities, and chart a stronger path for future humanitarian interventions.
During the meeting, members reflected on the Foundation’s growing impact within communities, particularly its recent cholera prevention sensitization activities and participation in the 2026 World Breastfeeding Week celebration in collaboration with the Borno State Primary Health Care Development Board (BOSPHCDB), where WERA contributed hygiene kits and engaged with partners working to improve public health outcomes.
A major focus of the meeting was strengthening the Foundation’s organizational structure, thematic priorities, accountability systems, and partnership development strategy. Members agreed on the importance of building a more robust institution capable of attracting partnerships, donor support, and sustainable funding while remaining committed to the Founder’s vision of supporting vulnerable groups, including widows, orphans, and underserved communities.
The Foundation also reviewed plans to expand its work across key thematic areas, including Health & Nutrition, Livelihood Support, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and Protection. Discussions further highlighted the need for improved documentation, proposal development, reporting systems, advocacy engagement, and stronger collaboration with humanitarian and development organizations.
Several action points were adopted, including the development of organizational policies, formal assignment of roles and responsibilities, establishment of transparent financial management systems, strengthening of state registration processes, and increased engagement with government institutions, donors, and development partners.
Speaking at the close of the meeting, members reaffirmed their commitment to teamwork, accountability, transparency, and community-driven humanitarian action. The Foundation remains focused on creating meaningful and sustainable change in the lives of vulnerable individuals and communities through strategic partnerships and impactful interventions.
Together, we are building stronger communities and creating lasting hope for those who need it most.
